Discussion 2.1

Your first patient today is clearly in an abusive relationship. This patient refuses to prosecute her abuser, refuses to leave the relationship, and has three small children. Look up your state law regarding abuse and your responsibility to your patient. How will you treat this patient? What is important to record/document? Is a referral indicated?
